NDIS transport explained simply

NDIS transport supports help participants get to and from activities, appointments, and community events. There are two main ways it's funded:

  • directions_car Provider vehicle (per km) — your support worker drives you in their vehicle and claims $0.97/km from your plan.
  • local_taxi Taxi / rideshare allowance — a set dollar amount in your plan that you can use for taxis or rideshare to get to activities independently.

Some plans include a transport budget; others include provider travel within the support line item. Your Support Coordinator can confirm which applies to you.
